Regular newborn and infant check-ups help monitor growth, feeding, development and vaccination schedules. Consult a paediatrician if your baby has difficulty feeding, poor weight gain, persistent vomiting, fewer wet nappies than usual or concerns about developmental milestones.
Newborns and young infants can become seriously ill quickly. Seek prompt medical assessment if your baby has a fever, difficulty breathing, unusual drowsiness, poor responsiveness or other signs of serious illness. A temperature of 38°C or higher in a baby under three months requires urgent medical evaluation.
